WUST can assist eligible students with their CPT application and processing on the first day of enrollment. Founded in 2008 by Dr. Sohn, Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST) has a vision to change the world by providing innovative, effective, and affordable education to people around the globe. WUST emphasizes skills development by helping students set career-oriented goals; provides hands-on training through CPT; and offers ongoing career development services. WUST operates on a quarterly basis, with each quarter lasting 10 weeks. F1 students must complete at least 9 credit hours per quarter.

School Introduction

WUST currently offers three master’s programs and two undergraduate programs. The master’s programs offer CPT (Contactless Practitioner) status, but applicants must have already completed one academic year of study in the US as an F-1 visa holder prior to enrollment. WUST’s three master’s programs cover most of the relevant job fields!

WUST operates on a quarter system, with each quarter lasting 10 weeks. As an F1 student, you must complete at least two classes per quarter, totaling 9 credits. After completing three consecutive quarters, you are entitled to a one-quarter (3-month) sabbatical leave. During this leave, you can continue working using CPT (Curricular Practical Training).

CPT application materials

  • Job Offer: The following content is required
    • Position title: Job title
    • Job description, duties, and responsibilities: Job responsibilities should be relevant to your major.
    • Start date (end date is not required): CPT Start Date – must not be earlier than the first day of each quarter.
    • Number of working hours per week:
    • Work location (if the position is remote, it must be stated in the letter): Work location. If it is remote work, the remote work and office location must be specified.
    • Supervisor’s name and title: Employer’s name and position
    • Supervisor’s email address: Employer’s email contact information
    • Signed by the employer: The employer must sign.
    • The job offer must be on the official company letterhead.
  • Complete the CPT Application Form online
  • CPT Part-time: 0-20 hours/week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
  • CPT Full-time: 21-40 hours/week

  2. Bachelor’s degree certificate and master’s degree certificate (if applicable)
  3. Photocopy of passport, photocopy of visa
  4. Language proficiency test scores (optional)
  5. Personal Statement
  6. Bank deposit certificate (last 6 months): $20,760

Students admitted through Lighthouse CPT will receive a 50% tuition reduction for their first quarter. Important Note: If a student withdraws for any reason and is unable to complete their studies, they will be required to refund the 50% tuition reduction granted by WUST for their first quarter.
