The University of Potomac offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs and is accredited by the Higher Education Commissions of the Midwestern States.

School Introduction

The University of Potomac’s Master’s program allows F1 visa holders to apply for CPT on the first day of the semester. F1 visa holders need to register for at least 6 credit hours (2 classes) per semester, with classes conducted in a hybrid learning format. Attendance is required 4 times per semester, all on Saturdays.

The University of Potomac has campuses in both Washington, D.C. and Virginia.

The DC campus is only a 10-minute drive from Union Station, and the VA campus is only a 30-minute drive from downtown DC, making transportation very convenient.

Submit application materials -> Application fee can be waived (please contact Lighthouse CPT) -> Receive offer -> Transfer SEVIS -> Pay tuition -> Confirm course with advisor -> Submit tuition receipt -> Receive new I-20 and begin CPT application -> Enrollment

CPT Application Process

F1 visa holders can begin preparing and completing their CPT application before the start of their first semester. It takes schools 3-5 business days to process student CPT applications, and the school can only issue a CPT I-20 after receiving the student’s SEVIS ID.

CPT application materials require students to submit a Job Offer and a CPT Agreement (an EVL can be used instead; please contact Lighthouse Admissions Representative Ivy for specific requirements). The offer letter must include the following:
