New England College

Founded in 1976, New England College (NEC) is a private-nonprofit liberal arts college located in New Hampshire. NEC currently offers 37 bachelor's degree programs, 12 master's degree programs, and 1 doctoral degree program. NEC is one of the closest colleges in the Eastern United States to Boston and offers a Day 1 CPT program. It is a 1.5-hour drive from Boston Logan Airport and a 40-minute drive from Manchester Regional Airport.

NEC is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), one of the six regional accreditation bodies for higher education institutions in the United States. As of 2020, the school had a total of 4,327 students.

School Introduction

NEC offers Executive Programs, encompassing four specializations. These programs differ from other undergraduate/master’s programs. The NEC Executive Programs were established to address the demand for advanced degrees among working professionals who need to enhance their professional backgrounds through specialized knowledge.

Application process

  1. Meeting application requirements: Having already obtained a master’s degree in the United States & SEVIS Active
  2. Consult Lighthouse CPT to complete your major selection and enrollment timeline.
  3. Preparing application materials and submitting the application
    1. You will receive an email from the NEC website.
    2. Complete the application according to the email instructions.
    3. NEC has no application fee.
  4. If you receive an offer and decide to enroll, please pay an enrollment fee of $300.
  5. Complete the transfer and initiate the CPT application.
  6. Waiting for school to start
  1. Enroll in CPT courses
  2. Submit a CPT application, offer letter, and CPT Agreement Authorization Form to the school’s Designated School Office (DSO).
  3. Received CPT I20, started work on the start date.
